Suspicious face or neck skin lesions

Suspicious face or neck skin lesions can sometimes be skin cancer. The most common cancers in humans are basal cell carcinoma, that are generally not very agressive, but more agressive cancers such as melanoma can occur as well.
Our specialists at the Clinique ORL de Montréal will perform a detailed face and neck exam, and will perform a biopsy if the lesion looks suspicious.
In confirmed cancer cases, our specialists can remove and reconstruct the area. It is possible that your surgeon refers you to have specialized Mohs surgery where the cancer is removed and the area around it is analyzed layer by layer under the microscope to make sure everything was removed. Sometimes, lymph nodes in the neck need to be treated as well, and this is also performed by our specialists.
