Burning in the mouth and throat

A burning sensation in the mouth or throat can be explained by multiple diseases, and an evaluation by one of our ENT specialists could help you find the cause.

Some infectious causes, like a Candida infection, can cause burning. Stomach acid traveling towards the throat or mouth can explain it sometimes as well. It is important to rule out mouth or throat tumors or cancers that could present themselves as burning. Burning can sometimes be due to anemia, diabetes or thyroid problems, so talking to your family doctor beforehand can be helpful.
